Vic: Prisoners raise $1,100 for Royal Children s Hospital
Prisoners at a men's prison in Melbourne have raised $1,100 so far for today's appeal for
the Royal Children's Hospital.
Long-term prisoners in the Port Phillip Prison's Charlotte unit have pooled $430 so far in
a competition inmates are staging between the 14 units at the prison in Laverton.
The prisoners are among thousands of Victorians contributing to the annual Good Friday
appeal for the Royal Children's.
Prison spokesman PETER DINHAM says people forget that prisoners do have a heart and they're
particularly interested in doing something for kids.
The 590 prisoners have raised a total of $1,100 so far.
